New England Hockey Journal- Eastern Hockey League Season 3 Episode 2

Located in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States, the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and its 19 teams celebrates its 7th season in 2019-20.

For the past four years, the EHL has finished as the leader in the Direct-To-College Advancement at the Division II and III levels. This past season alone, the EHL accounted for nearly 1 in every 5 freshmen on Division II and III rosters.

To go along with the NCAA Commitments, the EHL has also helped over 75 players work their way up the USA Hockey Ladder of Development to the North American Hockey League (NAHL) and the United States Hockey League (USHL).

This area of advancement is also not limited to just players, as the EHL has seen a number of coaches make the jump up the ladder as well.

One of the unique things about the EHL is their showcase tournaments, held several times throughout the season in different locations, these showcases give college coaches an opportunity to scout league wide talent in one location over a 2-day period.

New England Hockey Journal was at one of the seasons first showcase tournaments at the Rodman Arena in Walpole, MA and shot the action, went behind the scenes and spoke with league officials, league coaches, college scouts and active players to find out what makes the EHL "the" league to play in for aspiring collegiate players.
