This was sort of a hybrid in a sense that you had a handmade, Crewe built car with modern BMW mechanicals underneath. The most obvious being the 5.4L V12 mated to a 5 speed ZF transmission lifted straight from the flagship BMW 750iL. This was arguably the most modern powerplant fitted to a Rolls/Bentley vehicle up until that time. It still remains to this day one of the smoothest powerplants ever fitted to a vehicle. Rolls focused more on luxury and left the more sporty models to Bentley. As a result there are only a fraction of Silver Seraphs as compared to Bentley Arnage models out there. The result is a smoother powerplant and a softer suspension designed more for high speed cruising than off the line power. With a claimed top speed of nearly 140mph - high speed cruise it does. At over five thousand pounds it wafts along with ease and is quiet as a tomb.

This gives one plenty of time to look around and appreciate the handmade quality that went into making these vehicles. For around $250,000 (in 2000 dollars) you get every surface covered in either wood, leather, or stainless steel. This is a far cry from the modern, mass production, assembly line vehicles produced today. This Seraph is from an era when cars were defined by the quality of the craftsmanship that went into making them rather how many cameras, sensors and screens they had.
