The Cranes of Khichan

Each winter thousands of Demoiselle Cranes gather at Khichan in India's Thar Desert. This video was filmed in January 2020 when up to 20,000 cranes were reported to be present in the area.

Known locally as ‘Kurja’ the birds find sanctuary in and around the village where they are fed by the villagers.
