Regenerate Episode 3 - Kibbutz Ketura Arava Institute Desert Farms

With temperatures of over 115 degrees and practically no rainfall, this desert oasis was made through desalination and by planting drought tolerant trees. The oasis is located in the southern part of Israel in the Aravah Valley on the outskirts of the of Eilat. They desalinate water, provide solar electricity to a quarter of the energy to the city of Eilat, and they grow a large date forest in the middle of a harsh desert.

Join us to learn about the variety of trees that can survive in even the harshest hot climate, including a 2,000 year old date seed that has been brought back to life. Many of these trees are medicinal including the moringa tree, neem tree, various pomegranate trees, and more!
