Tech Packs, Samples & The 1cm Rule (Why Most Production Fails)

Most brands think production problems start at the factory.

They don’t.

Production fails when instructions are unclear.

Here’s the hidden truth:

Factories build exactly what you approve.

If your tech pack is off by 1cm —
That’s not one bad piece.
That’s 300 bad pieces.

This is what I call the 1cm Rule.

A tiny mistake in:

• Chest width
• Sleeve length
• Body length

Becomes a full production disaster.

And samples?

They’re made under ideal conditions:

✔ Senior workers
✔ No production pressure
✔ Extra attention

Bulk production is different:

• Faster pace
• Multiple operators
• Real deadlines

Three common mistakes brands make:

1️⃣ Approving samples visually, not technically
2️⃣ Saying “we’ll adjust later”
3️⃣ Not writing tolerance rules clearly

Factories follow what’s written — not what’s implied.

Tech packs aren’t paperwork.
They’re protection.

If you want to work with real factories that follow strict specs, proper sampling, and guaranteed QC —
