AIWA NSX-V52 COMPACT DISC STEREO SYSTEM tape drive belt replacement. At the end of this video deck 1 is still not working even though it has a new belt. This seems to have been some type of "learning" issue. The reason deck 1 was not working was due to the gear mechanism somehow not being correctly configured and the deck door would not close due to an obstruction with part of the mechanism. After advancing the drive belt by hand the obstruction was removed and the deck would play. After doing this a couple of times and putting deck 1 through all it operational modes the problem "went away". It seems as though it was able to "learn" its proper operation with a little help. But I subsequently noticed that on some cassettes deck 1 would run slow in sections, visual inspection showed the belt was slipping somewhat (in the video itself you might just detect that belt 1 was a bit looser than belt 2 when I touched them with the pick) so I put the next smaller belt in my collection on and now it seems to be working fine .Originally this deck went down due to cd player stopped working. After replacing the tape deck drive belts i did a debug on the cd player and it turned out all it needed was a lens cleaning to get running. The belts for the cd door and disc changing unit unit seemed fine. But then I also noticed the cd tray was sticking and needed to be pushed at times. So, I lubed the cd tray sliding rails with white lithium grease and the tray seems to be working smoothly now. I Also lubed some spots related to the disc changing system that I noticed originally had some grease on them.
