The Cartography Project: New Orleans, LA Hometown Activation

During the summer of 2023, the Kennedy Center engaged in a series of Hometown Community Activations with arts and cultural partners in each of the focus cities, to deepen and strengthen the work of the commissioned artists and the communities from which they have geographic proximity.

In New Orleans, we partnered with the New Orleans African American Museum, Dillard Univ and Louisiana Philharmonic to support the Hometown Activation for our NSO commissioned composer, Charles Lumar II.
