“La Jota” dances are lively and were favorite during social gatherings among the Spanish elite. This version danced by the old folks of January, Iloilo must be an adaption and interpretation of a “Jota” probably brought here by the spaniards or filipinos who have come home from seville, Spain. This is very markedly Spanish in both music and steps.
