House Floor Plans (part 1) – Designing Floor Plans & Layout for our Open Concept Main Floor

We are building our Dream Home and in this video we walk you through the first part of our House Plans – our Open Concept Main Floor! We share our steps when creating our Custom Home design and layout, and explain our thought process for room placement and space planning.

When designing our custom home, we wanted to make sure that we really optimize our space, create a functional and open floor plan layout, and plan for all the rooms and spaces we need on our main floor. We really laboured over the design of our new home build and wanted to ensure that we are thinking about furniture placement, sight-lines, and the flow of traffic and movement between different areas in our new home. We discuss the trade-offs, considerations, and what to think about when creating floor plans for your new construction home.
