India just inducted its first home-built hovercraft.

The Indian Coast Guard has commissioned H-561, the first indigenously constructed Air Cushion Vehicle (ACV), marking a milestone for India's maritime and defence manufacturing ambitions.

Built by Chowgule & Company in Goa, the hovercraft will strengthen coastal surveillance, search-and-rescue missions and rapid-response operations along India's coastline.

Another step towards a self-reliant defence ecosystem.
