Walking in Izmir: Karşıyaka, Turkey, Summer 2021

Hi everyone,

We shot this video walking in Karşıyaka which is the neighbourhood on the opposite side of the bay in from Konak or Alsancak in Izmir. Karşıyaka has a very busy shopping street that leads right to the waterfront - it actually reminded us a bit of Istiklal Ave. in Istanbul.

To get to Karşıyaka you can take the tram or the subway - the tram station is right at the waterfront and the subway station up the street on the North end of the shopping street. We took the ferry from Alsancak to get there and the ride takes about 25 min and can be paid for by Izmir card (which you need to buy in order to use public transportation in Izmir).
