F-16 Fighting Falcons conduct flying ops with Colombian Air Force Kfirs - Cockpit Footage

U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcons assigned to the 79th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron and Colombian Air Force Kfirs conducting flying operations together during Exercise Relampago VI, over Colombia, July 26th 2021. Relampago VI is a combined Colombian and U.S. exercise taking place in the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) theater that focuses on techniques, tactics and procedures to strengthen the longstanding partnership between our armed forces. The footage was filmed from the cockpit of a F-16 Fighting Falcon

The Israel Aircraft Industries Kfir (Lion Cub) is an Israeli all-weather multirole combat aircraft based on the French Dassault Mirage 5, with Israeli avionics and an Israeli-built version of the General Electric J79 turbojet engine. Columbia received 12 Kfir C.2 Variants in the late 1980's and began operating the Kfir from 1990, In the past 30 years the aircraft have gone through several upgrades and additional aircraft have been purchased. In 2017, Colombian IAI Kfirs were updated with the EL/M 2052 AESA Radar and incorporated the I-Derby-ER Active Air to Air Missile and the Python-5 Air to Air Infrared Missile
It is understood the Colombian air force as of 2019 operate 23 aircraft.
