Office loans are underwater, loan delinquincies are piling and property values are dropping. Commercial real estate is going under with record office vacancies. The SEC is probing into regional banks as regional banks carry 70% of the $2.2 trillion in commercial loan maturities that are coming due between now and 2028. The SEC is now asking great questions on things occupancy rates, loans to value ratios as a credit crunch is here due to extremely high office vacancy rates. If commercial real estate goes under, the regional banks will be impacted most. If the regional banks go under, what will happen to small business lending?
