How The Boring Company Puts Subways To Shame

The Boring Company promises to ease the pain of commuting every day by offering an underground network of tunnels that can not only provide autonomous travel but also faster travel. With speeds in the range of 125 to 150 mph, the Boring Company hopes that they can offer a much superior underground transportation experience when compared to subways. Aside from providing a speedy tunnel network, the Boring Company hopes to bring down the cost of creating such infrastructure. Currently, they estimate that they can build 1 mile of tunnel with just $10 million. To put this in perspective, subway construction generally costs $300 to $500 million per mile of tunnel construction. This video analyzes the economical and societal benefits the Boring Company hopes to provide in order to illustrate how the Boring network will likely be far superior to current subway systems.
