The #1 Skill that Interns Need (Software Engineering)

Every single mentor I've had throughout my internships has given me this same piece of advice. If you're a software engineering intern, practicing this one soft skill could makes all the difference in securing your return offer.

And that is: managing expectations.

in this video, I provide some tips for impressing your managers, protecting your motivation, and convincing people that you know what you're doing. Your success often doesn't come down to your code output or the metric impact of your internship project - it depends more on interpersonal relationships, your midpoint and final evaluations, your intellectual vitality, and our ability to take ownership of problems despite ambiguity.

3. Write a Roadmap
4. Stop Apologizing
5. Find your focus (narrow scope)
