LR Baggs Anthem SL & Session Acoustic DI

In this video, I compare:
- the direct sound of the LR Baggs Anthem SL pickup,
- its signal processed through the LR Baggs Session Acoustic DI,
- and the natural tone of my 2019 Gibson J-45 captured with a Neumann KM184 microphone.

You’ll hear all three audio sources side by side. Later in the video, I demonstrate how adjusting the Session DI’s knobs (saturation, compressor) affects the tone, and I also run the signal through an AER Compact 60 Slope IV acoustic amp.

If you’re curious about getting the most authentic and versatile acoustic tone for studio or stage, this video might be interesting for you.

Interface: Universal Audio Apollo Twin, no EQ or effects, volume adjusted.

The LR Baggs Session Acoustic DI Pedal is a studio-quality preamp and DI box designed for acoustic guitar. It features analog saturation to add warmth and harmonics, a multi-band Compression EQ to smooth out troublesome frequencies, and a notch filter to control feedback. Additional functions include a variable high-pass filter, phase reversal, ground lift, mute footswitch, and an onboard VU meter for optimal gain setting. The pedal provides both XLR and ¼" outputs and can be powered by 9V battery, external supply, or phantom power. Its intuitive one-knob controls let you quickly improve your live acoustic sound, bringing studio magic to the stage.
