CHASING 2 RAMS ACROSS A MOUNTAIN - WILL I GET THEM?

Eweknit Website - https://www.eweknit.com

The Eweknit Origin Story:

The Eweknit Story begins in Sligo, in 2018.

Our soon-to-be founder, Karol Devaney, was in his first week of work placement as part of his degree in Agricultural Science, in University College Dublin. The days in the office consisted of sitting in front of a laptop from 9-5 and working about 50% of the time at most.

He would then go home in the evenings and weekends to look after the family flock of 800 sheep.

Bearing in mind that this was January in the Northwest of Ireland, a region nestled right next to the Cranky Atlantic, a place where the seasons consist of about 9 months of winter and 3 months of bad weather.

After a few weeks of being bored during the day and getting a cold soaking in the evening, Karol came up with a brainwave. He should start a clothing brand for farmers and get a company to make gear that was soft but tough. Hoodies and Jackets in the winter and T-Shirts and Singlets for the remaining 5 days of the year (lol).

Fast forward to 2021 and we’ve had the privilege of sending gear to hundreds of farmers in every County in Ireland as well as further afield. Eweknit is being worn and loved by notable names in farming such as Louise Crowley, Anna Truesdale, Alice The Calf Girl, Sean Roddy The Beef Farmer and Tiktok stars Fiona Bergin and Katie Shanahan. We've been covered in much of the Agri-News Media including Agriland, The Farming Independent and That's Farming.

But the one thing that's even better than building a successful business is being able to bring farmers together and meet so many people in what we believe is the best industry in the world. Getting out to shows and events, supporting good causes and leaving the world better than we found it. What have you left when it's all said and done? Great memories and friendships, because there's no towbar on the hearse as the saying goes!

The Eweknit Mission:

Our mission is to promote and support Agriculture both in Ireland and abroad. We primarily do this in 3 ways:

Creating great clothing products for farmers. We spend a significant amount of time and money finding and testing products to add to our farm clothing range. We continue to grow in popularity despite spending very little money on advertising, as we strongly believe that great products will market themselves. A big focus of ours in 2022 is to add Wool products to our range, keep an eye out!
Creating great Farming Content, primarily through our Farming Podcast but also through our email newsletter, blog and on our Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok and Youtube accounts.
Sponsoring and getting involved in great Agricultural causes and events. Most recently we were one of the main sponsors of The Big Boy Ram Sale and we recently donated gear and money to the Irish Sheep Shearing Association Trailer Fund and the Mountmellick Macra ‘Light Up Truck & Tractor Run’ in aid of the Cuisle Cancer Support Centre. Covid-19 prevented a lot of normal events from taking place but we’re itching to get out and about once things start to open up again! We also do awesome giveaways which are always free to enter, we give away 1 hoodie per month and 100 euro vouchers every so often. Most recently we gave away 5 lambs, that one got alot of interest as you can imagine!
Thanks for all the love and support, there would be no Eweknit without you!
