Forbönder, resan från Särna till Idre

Every year in February, groups of so-called forbönder with horse and sleigh go to the market in Røros. They follow an age-old tradition, since the copper mines were opened in Røros.

Because there were almost no roads in these areas, the market in Røros was held in the winter. With horse and sledge the forbönder could easily reach Røros over the snow and frozen lakes. In this film, a group of forbönder with 13 horses and sleds are followed on their journey from Särna to Idre.
