Jerry Bruckheimer produced the film for Buena Vista Pictures and it hit theaters on September 29, 2000.

The Film was a financial success, with a modest budget of $30 million it went on to take in nearly $137 million dollars. Since the film was received well by critics and audiences alike, it served as a launching pad for many successful acting careers.
