Winter Climbing Conditions (8th Feb 2025)

Autonomous Dji Neo and Flip drone footage of winter climbing conditions in the Cairngorms.
Currently good winter climbing conditions and with the calm weather the chance to get some drone crag photos for some winter climbing topos using the new DJI Flip and the tiny DJI Neo.

After a few photos and video with the DJI Flip I thought I'd try out the DJI Neo in autonomous follow mode without using the phone or controller to see if it could record decent footage of me climbing the small icefall and climbing the steep snow slope above and this is the result which I'm more than happy with!

I'll probably do another video combining the DJI Neo footage with my comments from the GoPro headcam footage that I took at the same time.

Finally it was nice to chat to the Kirby Stephen mountain rescue team and fellow drone enthusiasts on the way up the hill who were on their annual winter training and it's them waving at the drone from the top of the crag as I told them what I was doing!

Other than that there was nobody else in the area
