Chief of Police Edward Dinovo

Edward Charles Dinovo, Sr., age 92, former Chief of Police in Council Bluffs, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021.

Ed was born March 13, 1929, in Council Bluffs. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1947, received his Bachelor's Degree from UNO in 1973, and graduated from the FBI Academy in 1976.

Chief Dinovo served this community on the Council Bluffs Police Department for 30 years with the last eight as Chief of Police, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Iowa National Guard. Ed was also a licensed plumber and worked for the railroad. His hobbies included woodworking and sharpening. He loved the St. Albert Falcons and Nebraska Cornhuskers.
