Goldcrest fledglings snuggling on Rathlin

25th May 2017. This fluffy foursome were fresh out of the nest, and initially were all bouncing around in the hedge drawing attention to themselves with a noisy chorus of high-pitched squeaking. A few moments later they snuggled up together on a branch and settled down for a snooze, while their parents continued to run themselves ragged finding food to stuff into their beaks.
