Peeples Place Q&A: Herb Pedersen on Earl Scruggs, 03-31-12

Folk-country-Americana legend Herb Pedersen (The Dillards, Desert Rose Band, Loafers' Glory) spoke with Stephen K. Peeples at the SCVTV Media Center in Newhall, Calif., on March 31, 2012. The chief topic was Pedersen's stint as a young man in the late '60s subbing in the Foggy Mountain Boys for Earl Scruggs. The banjo legend had died March 28. Pedersen and Peeples also touched on Pedersen's bluegrass-old-time music quartet Loafers' Glory. The group was at the studio to tape an edition of SCVTV's popular "House Blend" show, which Peeples writes, hosts, co-produces and books. It was Pedersen's second "House Blend" appearance; in late May 2011 he and duo partner Chris Hillman guested and that program was nominated for a WAVE award later in the year.
