I lived in Iowa for the past eight years. Prior to that I lived in Denver Colorado which I considered a tempered climax compared to the Midwest IOwa. When I moved states there was a lot I did not know about Iowa winters. I struggled to through my first winter.
I could not predict the weather, thus I did not know what I needed or what to wear.
I watched friends from endure their first winter in the Midwest. I’ve never seen a group of people more confused about what to wear. Some were underprepared, lacking warm jackets, waterproof boots, or winter accessories of any kind. Others went full out in the other direction the moment the temp dipped below 40, decked out in subzero parkas for the season’s first snow.
