The Uniform Robert E. Lee Surrendered In
Known as the "Surrender Uniform," this is the frock coat, gloves, and sword General Robert E. Lee wore during his surrender to Ulysses S. Grant on April 9, 1865 in Appomattox Court House, Virginia.
Also included in the video is the ink pen General Lee used to sign the Terms of Surrender.
I personally took these photos 151 years after the surrender on June 21, 2016 at the Museum of the Confederacy located in Appomattox.
Music used: "Desert Sky" by Silent Partner, and "St. Francis" by Josh Lippi & The Overtimers
