"Georgia" performed by The Airmen of Note

The Airmen of Note is the premier jazz ensemble of the United States Air Force. Stationed at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, D.C., it is one of six musical ensembles that comprise The U.S. Air Force Band. Created in 1950 to continue the tradition of Major Glenn Miller's Army Air Forces dance band, the current band consists of 18 active duty Airmen musicians including one vocalist.

Chief Master Sgt. Kevin Burns performs "Georgia" in his home state of Tennessee. This arrangement comes straight from his idol, trumpet legend Doc Severinsen, who attended an earlier concert. Sgt. Burns' family heritage in the Army Air Forces brought his grandfather to the state of Georgia where he met his wife. With his mother in attendance this was truly a family dediation.
