Andhra Pradesh's dream capital is fast emerging as the deep-tech capital of India! In a massive boost to the newly launched Amaravati Quantum Valley, the central government has officially sanctioned the entry of another prestigious defense entity. The Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL), a premier wing of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is setting up a state-of-the-art research and development facility in the capital region with an initial investment of ₹22.50 crore.

Key Highlights of the DRDO-NSTL Mega Project:

Advanced Defense Tech Hub: The center will actively focus on core naval defense research, specifically targeting Quantum Computational Fluid Dynamics (QCFD) algorithms, hybrid classical-quantum workflow development, validation, and advanced warfare simulation testing.

Plug-and-Play Launch pad: The IT Department of AP has officially allotted a 5,000 sq. ft. ready-to-use plug-and-play office space. Operations will temporarily commence from Medha Towers in Gannavaram before permanently transitioning to the dedicated Amaravati Quantum Valley campus once its buildings are completed.

Second Central Giant: NSTL is now the second major central institution to anchor its presence here. Previously, the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), under the Ministry of Electronics & IT, signed a historic MoU to collaborate with the Quantum Valley project.

Global Tech Vision: Aligning with the National Quantum Mission, this development significantly advances Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s blueprint to transform Amaravati into a $1 billion tech hub specializing in quantum hardware, security applications, and defense technologies.
