The highly anticipated film, Evis, directed by filmmaker Baz Luhrmann was presented this Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the International Film Festival in Cannes in the presence of directors and actors: Baz Luhrmann, Austin Butler, Tom Hanks, Olivia DeJonge, Alton Mason, Natasha Bassett and Catherine Martin. After an epic twelve-minute standing ovation, the Elvis directors and actors were welcomed to the Stephanie Beach Palace. In an electric atmosphere, guests were treated to a unique and unprecedented show in the history of the Festival: a five-minute drone presentation featuring iconic images of Elvis. Guests were also treated to live performances by three-time Grammy Award-winning artist Diplo, who performed the world premiere of Tupelo Shuffl", and global rock sensation Måneskin, who performed Elvis Presley's iconic hit If I Can Dream as well as Supermodel and Beggin. Both Diplo and Måneskin are featured on the soundtrack to the film ELVIS, created by Baz Luhrmann, which is released June 24 on RCA Records.

Elvis' wife Priscilla Presley, Elvis' former business partner Jerry Schilling, artists Shakira and Kylie Minogue, Paris-Saint-Germain footballer Killian Mbappé, actor and director Casey Affleck, French actor and director Claude Lellouche, Italian actor Pierfrancesco Pavino, models Winnie Harlow and Natasha Poly, martial arts champion Conor McGregor, French racing driver Pierre Gasly and singer Bilal Hassani were among the prestigious guests of this memorable evening.

The film focuses on the life and work of Elvis Presley (Austin Butler) through the lens of his complex relationship with his mysterious manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Tom Hanks). In the space of twenty years, while America is going through major socio-cultural upheavals and losing its innocence, Elvis becomes a worldwide star. In his meteoric rise, one person plays a key role: Priscilla Presley (Olivia DeJonge).

Alongside Hanks and Butler, award-winning stage actress Helen Thomson (Top of the Lake: China Girl, Rake) plays Elvis' mother Gladys, Richard Roxburgh (Moulin Rouge!, Breath, Thou Shalt Not Kill) plays Elvis' father Vernon and Olivia DeJonge (The Visit, Stray Dolls) plays Priscilla. Luke Bracey (You Shall Not Kill, Point Break) plays Jerry Schilling, Nathasha Bassett (Hail, Cesar!) plays Dixie Locke, David Wenham (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, LION, 300) plays Hank Snow, Kelvin Harrison Jr. (The Trial of the Chicago 7, The High Note) plays B.B. King, Xavier Samuel (Perfect mothers, Love & friendship, Twilight - chapter 3: hesitation) plays Scotty Moore and Kodi Smit-McPhee (The power of the dog) plays Jimmie Rodgers Snow. The cast also includes Dacre Montgomery (Stranger Things, The broken heart gallery) as television director Steve Binder, and Australian actors Leon Ford (Gallipoli, Band of Brothers: Hell of the Pacific) as Tom Diskin, Kate Mulvany (The Great Gatsby, Hunters) as Marion Keisker, Gareth Davies (Rabbit Stone, Hunters) as Bones Howe, Charles Ground (Crazy rich asians, Camp) as Billy Smith, Josh McConville (Nightmare island) as Sam Phillips and Adam Dunn (Summer Bay) as Bill Black.

The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures and will be released in North America on June 24, 2022 and in the rest of the world on June 22, 2022.
