The book is about Erika who goes to Nepal to treat the Nepali queens at the time of Tribhuvan. She
ends up befriending King Tribhuvan (and teaches him to dance along the way), and helping him to come in contact with the Indian Ambassador, in order for him to flee Nepal and come back and end the Rana regime. Its not a story that most Nepalese know, so I'm sure that if they read it, they will come to know something that they didn't know and would be thankful to the book for telling this lost story.
It looks like Erika did play an important role in Nepal's end to the Rana regime. It was only because of her that the King came in touch with India. It was only through her that India realized that the King was actually thinking of breaking away from the clutches of the Ranas. Up until that point, India and the rest of the world believed, that the King was corrupt person living inside his palace, and enjoying the excesses of life.
मूल उपन्यास "एरिका एण्ड द किंग"को नेपाली भावानुवाद "त्रिभुवनकी एरिका" हो । यस अनुभवोपन्यासको लेखिका हुनुहुन्छ एरिका ल्युकट्याग जस्ले राणाकालिन नेपालमा राजा त्रिभुवनको न्रित्य प्रसिक्षिका भएर रहिन । यस कृतिलाई अङ्ग्रेजीबाट नेपालीमा अनुवाद सरोज मिश्रले गर्नु भएको छ ।
Tribhuvan Ki Erika is translated by Saroj Mishra.
The original Nepali translation of the novel "Erika and the King" is "Tribhuvan ki Erika". The author of this novel is Erika Lucatag, who remained a dance instructor of King Tribhuvan in Nepal during the Rana period. This work has been translated from English to Nepali by Saroj Mishra.
