Land Rover Discovery Sport: The class of the field

The original Land Rover Discovery Sport was a big hit, but growing competition in the 7-seat family crossover segment has prompted Land Rover to update the much-loved Disco. Of course, competition from the likes of Volkswagen, Peugeot, SEAT and Hyundai is unlikely to lure away the Land Rover faithful due to the strength of the brand, but to say the Discovery Sport is popular just because of the badge would be doing it a disservice.

That's not to say it didn't need improving. In terms of fuel economy and emissions, it lagged behind its competitors and whilst this new version can't quite match the most efficient performers, it now puts up a decent fight. On the looks side, it benefits from a raft of improvements including a facelift that brings new signature LEDs at the front and rear, updated grille and bumpers, better cabin, extra technology and some welcome safety enhancements.

If you've never considered the Discovery Sport, then this new model might appeal to you, and if you've wanted one before, then you'll want one even more now.
