Fares Al Soud becomes first Canadian-Palestinian elected to Parliament

"I hope that my victory does inspire a certain degree of hope."

Fares Al Soud, 25, is the first lawmaker of Palestinian descent elected to Canada's Parliament.

Like Rashida Tlaib in the US Congress and Rima Hassan in the European Parliament, he says he wants to amplify Palestinian voices—and push Canada to officially recognise the State of Palestine.
