Leveraging APRS in Search and Rescue (SAR) Operations
For decades, the Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS) has been increasing the situational awareness of the amateur radio community. Search and Rescue teams made up of or augmented by licensed amateur radio operators can leverage this communications technology to increase the speed, efficiency, and accuracy of multiple routine tasks to the benefit of the Incident Command and ultimately, the search subject.
