An 'incredible brawl' has broken out after Captain Sir Tom Moore's recent passing

Sky News host Andrew Bolt says an "incredible brawl" has broken out following the recent death of Captain Sir Tom Moore in the UK.

Sir Tom recently died, aged 100, after contracting coronavirus.

The veteran was knighted by the Queen in July 2020 after he raised a total of AU$59 million for the UK’s National Health Service.

Mr Bolt said there has been a "fuss" following Sir Tom's death.

The issue arose after British television and radio presenter Beverley Turner recently declared she would be refusing to clap for Sir Tom, as part of a special one-off national clapping event following the war veteran's death.

Ms Turner copped backlash on Twitter and from British broadcaster Piers Morgan, among others, for her decision.

Mr Bolt discussed the issue with Spiked Online Editor Brendan O’Neill.

Mr O'Neill said he also didn't take part in the national clap for Captain Tom.

"I have huge amount of respect for him, I think he really kept this nation going actually in 2020 during the COVID crisis with his various charity efforts," Mr O'Neill said.

"But I didn't clap because I don't like being told what to do".
