We needed a small trolling motor. After a long exhausting search and only finding 48 inch shafts. We realized that we were going to have to DIY our own. I know there are smaller shaft motors out there but they're not saltwater rated and nowhere near as strong as the Minn Kota brand. So we took a deep breath and crossed our fingers as we proceeded to cutting the Riptide down to size.
