My Biggest Issue With The Fuji X-Pro 3
I'd even be happy with a firmware update that gave you better confidence/control over your zone with the 23mm lens they currently offer... If Fuji did decide to take this route, they could display the focus scale on the "film back" screen and actually make that thing useful.
Just to save some people time, I'm talking about zone focusing in this video... If you've never heard of zone focusing, please look it up before writing out a comment.... I have no problems with Fuji's autofocus or autofocus in general. I actually think it's fantastic.. SO much so in fact, I would love to have a lens that could do both.. but if I could only choose one then I'd go with a lens that allows me to effectively zone focus because it fits my workflow better. I shot street photography with an autofocus lens for 2 years and I missed more shots because of shitty focus than I care to count... Ever since learning how to zone focus, my miss rate has drastically decreased. Also, for me, it's better when I know that I'm the reason I missed the shot and not the technology in the camera.
A small profile, 35mm focal length lens (23 for this camera) that gives me adequate control over my zone.. believe it or not, there are not many reasonably priced options that fit that bill.. even with adapters.
Not sure if anyone else feels similar, but here are my thoughts and proposed solution. We can always dream. I’m sure some people will get upset with this, but hey, opinions are like assholes at the end of the day.
