Where I've Been & Where I'm Going | Watercolor Red Panda Repaint

In today's video, I am finally ready to share why I've been so absent over the past two years, as well as what I'm doing to finally pick myself up back up and start making changes for the better. I do spend some time talking about my relative hardships, so here are some timestamps if you'd like to skip those conversations.

*** Please Note ***
Today’s video has been planned for months, before the added weight of more recent events were fully realized. Watching it back now feels self-centered given the scope of the war in Ukraine. However, I do think it holds an important message.

The pain we individually experience doesn’t need to be worse than someone else’s to be valid. I'm not speaking only about myself, but to each of you reading this. It is extremely important for us all to have self-awareness, relative perspective, and to show gratitude for what we do have. And it is also important to practice empathy towards our fellow humans.

The time we are living in right now has been horribly traumatic on so many levels. I can recognize that I am not going through anything comparable to what the people of Ukraine are being subjected to right now, but that does not mitigate that I was so depressed last year that I didn’t want to be alive.

My heart breaks for those impacted by all of the terrible in the world right now, such as but not limited to this war as well as a situation closer to home that is currently threatening transgender children and their families here in Texas. My heart also breaks for others like me who are disabled/high-risk/just don’t want to be subjected to this virus who have had to stop living for two years and are literally being told their lives don’t matter by their communities and countries through both actions and words.

Ultimately, I cannot help anyone else if I lose my own battle to depression, so I’m fighting like hell to get back to doing what I love, as well as so that I can amplify other voices once again - human and animal alike. I hope that comes across in the sentiment of this video. And remember, you need to put on your own oxygen mask first so that you can continue to help others.

In the video, I mentioned I am having a sale to help with my moving expenses. While help would be greatly appreciated, if you are in a position to do so, I would like to first ask that before making a purchase from my shop, you consider donating to those in need of aid during this war, to organizations that are fighting harmful legislation against transgender rights, or to any other human rights organization that you are passionate about and truly needs your help right now.
