How to circle crop in GIMP

Hey guys, welcome back to NGB 2.0 and in this video, I want to show you how you can make circle crop in GIMP. Now it's actually super easy to make circle crop in GIMP. So without further delay, let's get started and see how you can do this. Now to demonstrate this, I've already imported a demo image in the GIMP editor. So this is my demo image present right here. And to make a circle crop,

you need to first right click on your image layer. Next, you need to select this option called add alpha channel. Now what you need to do next is you need to select the ellipse tool from the toolbox. And now create a circle around the area which you want. So let me just create a circle around this particular area as this is the area which I want.

And once you have created a circle, next right click inside the circle and then go to select and then click on this option which is float. Now the moment you click on float, you will see this floating selection or floated layer right on top of your main image layer. So what you need to do next is you need to select this option which says create a new layer and add it to the image.

Now the moment you select this option, the floating selection will change into floated layer. And so now using the move tool, you can actually move this particular layer as you can see on screen right now. Alright, so what you need to do next is you need to create a new image. So let me just go to file and then click on new. And let the width and height of my new image be 700.

And inside advanced options, let me just select foreground color inside fill with as it is this particular color which I want. And once you are done, simply click on OK. And so now go back to your image and make sure that the floated layer is selected. Go to edit and then select copy.

And now go to your new image, go to edit once again and then go to paste as and then click on new layer. Perfect. Let me just use the scale tool to scale down the image a little bit. Alright, and once you are satisfied with the outcome, simply click on scale and that's it.
