Yemanja is the Yoruba Goddess of the sea. Each year she is honored with baskets of flowers as offerings of prayer. Yemanja, also known as Yemaya in Cuba, is celebrated throughout Brazil, and in many other parts if the African Diaspora, with song, dance and rhythms played in her honor. Created for the BrasArte: World Dance Center's annual Yemanja Festival.
