Michael's Story

Michael, the original New Hair Guy and YouTube channel creator, had a Hair Transplant procedure in November 2018. At the date of surgery, Michael was 44 years old with a Norwood 5 stage of hair loss classification.

Michael's hair loss story goes back to 2009. At the age of 35, Michael started to have aggressive recession in the frontal portion of his scalp. No matter how short he kept his hair, Michael felt that his hair loss was affecting his overall look.

It wasn't until 2017 when Michael started researching Hair Transplantation online. Luckily, the Hair Transplantation industry had come along way with new techniques and procedures from what was offered previously. Hair Transplantation surgery could now take place over several hours on one day, versus several sessions over a long period of time, to achieve successful results. After several months of research on Facebook, YouTube and Reddit, Michael decided to have his FUE Hair Transplantation in Istanbul, Turkey. This decision was not made easily. He carefully researched to find excellent surgeons who offered safe and reliable surgery at an affordable price within his budget.

The FUE Hair Transplant surgery took place in November 2018 in Istanbul, Turkey. In total, 3300 grafts were successfully transplanted over a 5.5 hour period. Michael was in Istanbul for a total of 3 nights, and flew back to the US after a final check by the Hair Transplant surgeons.

Initial recovery from surgery only takes up to 10 days, although Michael was able to be active and return to work after just 5 days. Michael is now well beyond the 1 year mark, and continues to see amazing growth.
