Start PowerPoint. Download and open the file Exp22_PPT_Ch04_HOE_Travel.pptx. Grader has automatically added your last name to the beginning of the filename.
The images on the photo gallery slide have not all been grouped with their corresponding frames. You will group the remaining images and frames so they can be moved and aligned on the slide.

Click or navigate to Slide 6. Group the parrot image in the upper-left corner with the white rectangle image surrounding the image. Group the fish image in the middle of the bottom row with the white rectangle image surrounding the image.
You continue grouping objects in the presentation so that they can be manipulated as one object.

Click or navigate to Slide 10. Group the image of the woman on the left side with the text box below (Vanessa Lindquist). Group the image of the man on the right side with the text box below (Allan Lindquist).
You align the two images from the previous step for better balance on the slide.

Select the two images on Slide 10 (grouped in the previous step) and Align Middle.
Because of the large amount of information you want to include on the slide, SmartArt was not a good choice so you convert the SmartArt to text.

Click or navigate to Slide 2. Convert the SmartArt to text. Increase the font size of the bulleted list to 32.
Although SmartArt conveniently groups all shapes together within a SmartArt graphic, you want to work with the shapes in this graphic individually. You use Convert to Shapes to help you do this.

Click or navigate to Slide 9. Convert the SmartArt to shapes. Ungroup the shapes. Delete the gray shape surrounding the three images.
You change the height and location of the shapes on the slide.

Select the gold, blue, and green rounded corners rectangle shapes and change the height to 1.2". Set the Vertical position of the three shapes to 3.75".
By default, two guides display onscreen that intersect in the middle of the slide. You add more guides to help align objects away from the center of the slide and to break the slide into even spaced horizontal and vertical thirds.

Click or navigate to Slide 12 and display the Rulers and Guides. Move the vertical guide to the right until 2.25 displays. Right-click the vertical guide and from the shortcut menu, select Add Vertical Guide. Drag or position the new vertical guide to the left of 0 until 2.25 displays. Move the horizontal guide up until 1.25 displays. Right-click the horizontal guide and select Add Horizontal Guide. Drag or position the new horizontal guide down below 0 to 1.25.

Now that the slide is broken into thirds, you can place objects according to the Rules of Thirds design principle.

Click or select the border of the text box with the text Thank You. Drag or position the text box to the left so that the left vertical guide is between the letters H and A and the top of the text box aligns with the bottom horizontal guide at 1.25" below 0" on the ruler. (Hint: Horizontal position should be 3.05" and Vertical position 5"). Turn off Guides.
You rename the objects you grouped in an earlier step to help clarify the objects on the slides and then reorder the groups in the Selection pane.

Click or navigate to Slide 6 and open the Selection Pane. Click or select Group 7 in the Selection Pane and rename Fish. Click or select Group 6 and rename Parrots. Click or select the Diver group and select or press Bring to Front in the Arrange group on the Format tab. Click or select the Sunset group and select Send to Back.
You notice two pictures that would look better if the backgrounds were removed. You will first remove the background from the map of Roatan.

Click or navigate to Slide 5 and select the map image. Use the Remove Background feature to remove the white background from the map. Click or press Mark Areas to Keep and use the pencil to carefully mark the areas to keep.
