Camira Vs Sigma
The program was filmed as a 'pilot' - I shot this way back in 1982 :) A combined effort of the then Wheels Magazine writers and Seven's Evan Green and Artransa.
Originaly shot on Super 8 and 16mm (opening and closing segments).
It was certainly an example of Evan Green's versatility as a motoring writer and historian - he later went on to write mystery novels, one based on the Birdsville Track. During the trip he used to recall stories of 'Gelignite Jack' and the Redex trials. Amazingly, this was shot over seven days! I had the luxury of traveling with the mechanic in a Mercedes wagon - it came off much the worse for wear than both the Sigma and Camira!
NOTE: The original 4:3 ratio version can be viewed here https://youtu.be/VZJwiXiHGQE
