Ronald Reagan offers words of support to Richard Nixon, April 30, 1973

On April 30, 1973, California governor Ronald Reagan telephoned President Richard Nixon. Recording devices on the telephone in the Lincoln Sitting Room captured this conversation.

In the conversation segment, Reagan offers words of support to President Nixon, following the President's April 30 "Address to the Nation about the Watergate Investigations." President Nixon states his priority of building world peace. The two men remark on their good fortune in wives, Nancy Reagan and Thelma ("Pat") Nixon. They touch on that evening's televised address to the nation and the resignations of White House aides H. R. ("Bob") Haldeman and John D. Erhlichman.
