NOT Joking! Petrol Price HITS ₹500 in Pakistan - Our PYAARA Padosi #shorts
Recently, Pakistan has seen a sharp and sudden rise in fuel prices, reaching some of the highest levels in its history. This happened during the ongoing war in the Middle East, which has disrupted global oil supply and pushed international prices up.
At one point, petrol prices in Pakistan jumped to around ₹450–460 (PKR 458 per litre), while diesel crossed ₹500 (PKR 520 per litre). This was a very steep increase — petrol rose by about 40% and diesel by more than 50% in a short time.
This happened mainly because Pakistan depends heavily on imported oil. Around 90% of its oil comes from the Gulf region, so when war disrupted shipping routes like the Strait of Hormuz, supply became uncertain and expensive.
As global oil prices increased due to the war, the Pakistani government had no choice but to raise domestic fuel prices. Officials said they could not continue subsidies because the country already has limited financial resources and a weak economy.
The sudden price rise created a lot of pressure on ordinary people. Transport costs increased, food prices started rising, and many people found it difficult to afford daily travel. There were protests and strong public reactions because such high fuel prices directly affect the cost of living.
Due to this backlash, the government later reduced petrol prices slightly by cutting taxes, bringing it down to around PKR 378 per litre, but diesel prices remained very high.
The situation shows how a war far away can affect countries like Pakistan. Because it relies on imported oil, any global disruption quickly leads to record-high fuel prices, inflation, and economic stress for its people.
