RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2023 in EZO,
one of the largest all-night outdoor rock festivals in Japan,
was held on Friday, August 11 and Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the Ishikari Bay New Port Area Special venue in Hokkaido.

This year, a total of 64,000 people attended this special two-day annual musical paradise venue.
More than 70 artists from a wide range of genres performed on five stages, greatly impressing the audience.

"RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL" has a strong desire to introduce the best live performances of Japanese music to the world,
On Friday, December 22nd and Saturday, December 23rd at 19:00 JST, a special program will be premiered on the official RSR YouTube channel.

We will not only show you the best live performances that took place at the "music paradise for two days only," the vast venue surrounded by nature in Ishikari, Hokkaido, but also introduce you to the activities at the venue, delicious street restaurants, and all the other attractions of the RSR!
The navigator is Neil Hartman, an American living in Hokkaido who also acted as stage MC in 1999.
He will walk around the venue and give a report in English.

This year's program will feature 59 groups (Part 1: 23 groups, Part 2: 36 groups) and 59 songs, and and will premiere as a special 8-hour YouTube program in total.
*First premiere will be delivered with the super chat function turned on.

In 1991, he moved from California, U.S.A. to Hokkaido, Japan,
He is a filmmaker and photographer who has introduced Hokkaido culture,
such as snowboarding and adventure tourism, to the world.
In 1999, when the festival was first held, he was the stage emcee for the event.

The performance of "Festival Fairy, Matsutaro" has become a signature highlight of the RSR festival.

Two areas "PROVO" and "Greentope" showcase Hokkaido's uniqueness and homegrown culture through art, crafts and music.
Each area boasts its own individual atmosphere and charm.

Neil actively participates in workshops organized by children and converses with people from each area.

He reports on the different sides of RSR FES from the large-scale live concert represented by SUN STAGE.
