WHERE WE STAYED
- my family rented a condo at the Kolea at Waikoloa Beach

SIGHTSEEING/THINGS TO SEE
- Waikoloa Beach (by our resort property)
- 'Anaeho'omalu Beach (by our resort property)
- Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Here are some attractions to see within the park:
1) Sulphur Banks
2) Kilauea Overlook
3) Halemaumau Crater
4) Kilauea Iki Trailhead
5) Thurston Lava Tube
6) Devastation Trail
7) Puhimau Crater
8) Mauna Ulu Lava Shield
9) Hōlei Sea Arch
(There are plenty of stops you can make within the park, so I recommend researching it before going to ensure you make the most of it and see everything you'd like to see. My list here can easily take a full day to complete, and I recommend giving yourself a nice full day to explore the park.)

- Laupāhoehoe Beach Park (a pitstop we made on the way to Akaka Falls)
- Akaka Falls State Park (Admission was $5/person when we visited, plus $10 to park your car in the lot, or free to park outside of the main lot)
- Drive along the Pepeekeo Maikai Scenic Route
- Hawaii Tropical Bioreserve & Garden (costs to enter, we ended up skipping this, but my parents said it was beautiful)
- Onomea Bay Trail (parked on the side of the road and this trail leads to a nice coastal viewpoint and also is alongside the Tropical Bioreserve & Garden
- Downtown Hilo & the Liliuokalani Gardens
- Punalu'u Black Sand Beach
- Papakōlea Green Sand Beach

A few other stops we were going to make, but didn't have time to:
- Two Step
- South Point Historical Lighthouse
- Kahalu'u Beach Park
- Magic Sands Beach Park
- Captain James Cook Monument

NOTE: there is still more to see beyond this list I have above. This is generally everything we were able to see within our roughly one week on The Big Island.

- Lava Lava Beach Club (wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but it was close to our condo, convenient, friendly service and views of beach)
