Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 really shouldn't exist. It lost its original developer, laid off a bunch of their staff including original Bloodlines writer Brian Mitsoda, and experienced years of delays even after it got new developer The Chinese Room involved, who had only been known for walking sims so far and weren't exactly inspiring confidence. But now that their build is out in the wild, I wanted to see if the generally negative feedback it's gotten is warranted, especially in light of the pre alpha build that Hardsuit Labs gave us a 30 minute preview of back in 2019. Is the dream of a true Bloodlines sequel totally lost or have we been misled and Bloodlines 2 is actually a fine game? Let's find out!
