There is a difference between down and feather. Feather is more structured, denser and is heavier. Down is very unstructured. Both down and feather are used in sleeping pillows. Down is an outstanding insulator which is why it is used in garments such as coats and gloves. Because it is such a great insulator it is used in comforters or duvets.
