5 steps to CENTERING CLAY on the wheel!...for beginners

This is a how to video about how to center clay on the wheel! The most important part of throwing clay on the wheel. Centering is the foundation of throwing and must be mastered if you ever hope to create symmetrical pots!

Step 1 - Start with a wedged ball of clay.
Step 2 - Throw it down as close to the center as possible.
Step 3- Use the palm of one hand and the side of the other hand.
Step 4 - Don't let the clay move your hands, make your hands move the clay.
Step 5 - Spend a lot of time on the wheel.

I hope this video helps those who are just starting out!! Centering can be very frustrating but I promise that it comes with time !
