Anysiv village, Chernihiv region. Women create adaptive clothing for Ukrainian defenders

With support from the Norwegian government for nearly three years, UN Women in Ukraine and the Ukrainian Women's Fund have been implementing the project “Building a Peaceful, Democratic, Gender-Equal Society in Ukraine - Phase II” across four regions of Ukraine.

The project aimed to actively involve women in community life and collaborate with local authorities to address community issues, taking into account residents' gender-specific needs. The foundation for the work in these communities was the implementation of the National Action Plan 1325, “Women, Peace, Security,” for the period leading up to 2025.

The project supported 58 women's self-help groups and impacted several thousand women and girls.

We are proud to share stories about local initiatives launched by women that are transforming communities for the better.

Our first story comes from the village of Anysiv in the Ivanivska territorial community of Chernihiv Oblast—Adaptive Clothing for Wounded Soldiers.

The project “Building democratic, peaceful and gender equal society in Ukraine - Phase II” is implemented by UN Women in Ukraine in partnership with the Ukrainian Women's Fund, enabled by financial support from Norway.
