Cargo Plane Skids Into Sea in Hong Kong — 2 Dead in Runway Horror

A cargo plane flying from Dubai skidded off the runway into the sea while landing at Hong Kong International Airport early Monday (Oct 20), leading to the closure of the northern runway. The plane, carrying an Emirates flight number, struck a ground vehicle, killing two people, according to local media. Four crew members were rescued. Emirates has not yet commented. The accident occurred around 3:50 a.m. local time (1950 GMT Sunday).
